Regulations require the Housing Authority to do a comparable unit study before approving rents for a unit that is to be subsidized through the Section 8 program. We MUST use information gathered for private market, non-assisted units. This information includes factors such as number of bedrooms, square footage, locations, unit type and condition, utilities provided by the owner, amenities and maintenance and upkeep.
